LBCA’s fourth Local Advocacy Team (LAT) has launched in Michigan and will be run by LBCA LAT Ambassadors Valerie Frasier and Ciara Mohan Gustafson.
LBCA created LATs as a way to provide opportunities for individuals with lobular breast cancer living in the same geographic area in the US to connect and engage in ILC awareness raising activities in person, locally.
Currently there are 3 Local Advocacy Teams already in action:
- Lobular Awareness Network of The Carolinas run by LAT Ambassadors Minnie Campolong, Kathie Nejberger, and Julie Ray
- LAT DMV: DC, Maryland & Virginia run by LAT Ambassaors Brenda Sulick and Jeanette Brown
- LAT of NW Oregon run by LAT Ambassadors Kathleen Moss and Leslie Pifer-Pien
LBCA Executive Director, Laurie Hutcheson and LAT Ambassadors host monthly Zoom meetings. Anyone interested in local advocacy-whether you have an official team, want to start one or want to conduct local advocacy individually-are welcome to join our monthly meetings to share tips, successes and challenges.
