The Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance (LBCA) engages patients, clinicians, and researchers to increase knowledge of lobular breast disease and promote lobular breast cancer research.
Working with the guidance of an international, expert Scientific Advisory Board of breast cancer researchers and clinicians, and collaborations with other breast cancer advocacy organizations in the US and internationally, LBCA provides a platform for invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) research, maintains a library of current lobular breast cancer publications, and identifies clinical trials and research advocacy opportunities with a focus on lobular breast disease.  As a clinician and/or researcher, you need the most relevant, up-to-date information for your patients and your work. We’re here to help by providing you with clinical peer-reviewed resources and an opportunity to query ILC expert clinicians and researchers.
ILC Education for Clinicians
LBCA is now offering a series of ILC educational offerings for different types of clinicians. LBCA partnered with our Scientific Advisory Board and other clinicians with ILC expertise to develop continuing medical education (CME) courses for radiologists specifically on the unique aspects of ILC as part of this new ILC Training Series. These are offered free of charge and on-demand to clinicians via the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Continuing Medical Education portal.
Designed to provide in-depth knowledge and practical insights into the diagnosis, treatment, and management of Invasive Lobular Carcinoma, this series features a range of presentations designed to meet the learning needs of clinicians across disciplines.Â
Sessions Available:
- Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer – An overview of the unique biological characteristics of ILC, key considerations for management, and emerging directions for future research and treatment. Aimed at RN/PAs. Â
- Detecting Lobular Breast Cancer — The Challenges of Imaging: A Curriculum for Breast Imagers – A curriculum for breast imagers reviewing imaging challenges of ILC, including mammography, tomosynthesis, supplemental screenings, and staging approaches.
- LBCA Training on Invasive Lobular Carcinoma for General Radiologists – Focused on systemic staging of ILC
