Thanks to the $1 Million gift made by Dr. Shannon Klingman, physician, lobular breast cancer survivor, and founder of Lume Deodorant, LBCA has launched a competitive lobular breast cancer research competition to to find and fund two $500,000 grants. And we are challenging you to help LBCA raise money to “Match the Million” and fund two more $500,000 grants – so far we have raised $250,000!
We’re on our way to funding #3 (a third ILC research grant) and we’re working hard to add #4. Hear what supporters are sharing:
“I am a lobular breast cancer survivor who also has LCIS. It is troubling how little researchers know about lobular and LCIS. I am so grateful that Dr. Klingman is shining a light on this and donating so generously. I am 67 and hope that some breakthroughs might happen within my lifetime!” -Anonymous
“I was diagnosed with ILBC in the Spring of ’22. As a survivor, ILBC deserves more funding for research leading to better diagnostics, treatments and outcomes. Lobular has much different characteristics than the more common ductal carcinoma. It’s time to do better! Let’s make it happen!” -Suzan
Thank you so much for kick starting this campaign! Research is going to change and save lives! I wish I had known about lobular. MRI every year and diagnosed 3A because it wasn’t seen.” -Linda
As some of the donors to the Match the $1 Million Lobular Breast Cancer Research Challenge have conveyed, we are raising funds and raising HOPE for anyone touched by lobular breast cancer.
Do you want to help us see that more ILC research is conducted so that a cure can be found? Make a gift to the campaign and help make history for lobular breast cancer!
