LBCA is excited to welcome Gitte Henssel Joergensen, PhD, in the new position of Research Associate.

Gitte is a lobular breast cancer survivor and research advocate with a strong commitment to ensuring that patient voices are integrated into cancer research, and research funding and healthcare decision-making. Her research advocacy experience includes being a grant reviewer for several organizations and the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program. Gitte brings both scientific training and lived experience to her work. She is interested in bridging the gap between researchers and the patient community, with a particular focus on improving awareness and outcomes for those affected by invasive lobular carcinoma.

We are very happy to have Gitte join LBCA and our efforts to advocate for more ILC and metastatic ILC-focused research!
