LBCA Executive Director Laurie Hutcheson spoke with Claire Turner, founder of Lobular Breast Cancer UK, to learn about the latest ILC advocacy efforts in the United Kingdom.
After her own diagnosis in 2019, Claire was struck by the lack of ILC-specific information and research. She became aware of LBCA and the small but growing ILC community of advocates and scientists in the US and Europe. With guidance from LBCA’s founders, Claire decided to take the steps needed to establish Lobular Breast Cancer UK, which has since become a vital voice in the international lobular community. The organization advocates for more research and raises awareness within the UK’s unique healthcare system, the NHS.
Watch the interview to learn about the state of lobular breast cancer in the UK including the challenges patients face, updates on lobular research, and exciting plans for Global Lobular Breast Cancer Awareness Day on October 15th.
