In November 2022, the Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance (LBCA) held its latest Advocate Chat titled Conducting a Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser. The virtual session was hosted by LBCA Development Director Karen Ferguson who talked with lobular breast cancer advocates who were interested in learning how to fundraise for LBCA.
Karen shared tips with the group about how to set up a Facebook fundraiser and how to host a third party fundraiser. A volunteer who recently hosted a house party for LBCA shared her experiences with planning and hosting that fundraising event. Karen also talked about how important fundraising is to support the work of LBCA.
Our Advocate Chat series provides people with a way to learn more about different aspects of patient advocacy and to network with other advocates. Advocate Chats are organized with up to 30 minutes of presentation followed by a live question and answer session with the presenter, which is not recorded.
