Advocate Chat – Advocacy Opportunities at the Federal Level

Understanding Opportunities for Breast Cancer Research Advocacy at the US Federal Level

The Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance (LBCA) provides information and tools to help individuals who want to educate others about invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC), also known as lobular breast cancer. LBCA also provides links to training resources for breast cancer research advocacy, which enable people to promote more ILC research. The LBCA’s Advocate Chat series provides people a way to learn more about different aspects of patient advocacy and to network with other patient advocates.

In July, the LBCA held the latest installment of its Advocate Chat series.  Advocacy Opportunities at the Federal Level features a conversation with Breeze Riley from the NCI Office of Advocacy Relations and Salina Miller from the FDA’s Patient Representative Program®. Additionally, this session shares roles that are available for patient advocates via these two government agencies.

This program concludes LBCA’s first series of Advocate Chats. Learn more about LBCA and advocacy by visiting our Advocacy through Education and Research Advocacy Toolkit pages and reading Research Advocacy Resources and Questions and Answers.  Slides from the July Advocate Chat are also available.
