Advocacy in Action in New York and Montana

LBCA advocates continue to raise awareness and educate about lobular breast cancer through local events!

New York

We applaud Maureen Terranova who spread the word about ILC by attending and staffing a table at the 1st inaugural cancer survivors day at her local hospital, which was attended by about 50+ survivors and caregivers. She reported a lot of foot traffic to her LBCA/ILC information table where she shared many of LBCA’s educational materials about lobular breast cancer, and said she had several thoughtful and engaging conversations about lobular breast cancer with attendees. She enjoyed the event and is hoping to use her LBCA tabling supplies again for October 15th, Lobular Breast Cancer Awareness Day and other breast cancer awareness events in her area!

Montana

Kudos for Amy Grosch who attended a local health fair which she called a great success! About 150 members of the community attended and many stopped by her table where she shared  the story of her lobular breast cancer diagnosis and important facts about why lobular is different from other types of breast cancer. Amy felt she had provided important information to the community because no one she spoke with had ever heard of ILC!  Amy plans to set up another table at her local farmers market on July 30th and will be wearing her LBCA t-shirt!

Thank you to Maureen and Amy for their efforts to spread awareness of ILC!
