Advocate Chat – A Conversation About Social Media and Advocacy

Learning How to Use Social Media to Help in Our Advocacy Efforts

The Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance (LBCA) continues to provide information and tools to help individuals who want to educate others about invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) and to advocate for ILC research.

In this second in a series of Advocate Chats, LBCA Founding Advocate Diane Mapes and LBCA Communications Director Colleen Fitzwater discuss how social media can be used by patient advocates. The chat includes social media basics, LBCA tools, and a deeper look at Twitter including how to find who to follow on the platform.

Learn more about LBCA and advocacy by visiting our Advocacy through Education and Research Advocacy Toolkit page and reading Research Advocacy Resources and Questions and Answers, which provides many links to organizations that provide training and opportunities for involvement in research advocacy. You can also find LBCA social media resources here. To view the slide deck that goes with this presentation, click here. We also invite you to watch our first Advocate Chat: Introduction to Lobular Breast Cancer Advocacy.
