LBCA is excited to announce the launch of its fifth Local Advocacy Team (LAT), the Wisconsin Alliance for Lobular Awareness. Officially recognized in July 2026, the new team is led by LAT Ambassadors Erica Gonzalez and Mindy Dwinell.
LBCA created LATs to provide opportunities for people affected by lobular breast cancer who live in the same geographic region of the U.S. to connect with one another and engage in local, in-person activities that raise awareness of invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC).
Through these teams, advocates can build relationships within their communities, share trusted information and resources about ILC, and work together to increase understanding of this distinct subtype of breast cancer.
With the addition of the Wisconsin Alliance for Lobular Awareness, LBCA now has five active LATs serving communities across the country:
- Wisconsin
- North and South Carolina
- Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia
- Northwest Oregon/Southwest Washington
- Michigan
The launch of the Wisconsin Alliance for Lobular Awareness marks another step in expanding opportunities for people affected by ILC to connect and advocate locally while contributing to LBCA’s broader efforts to increase awareness and understanding of lobular breast cancer.
