As part of Breast Cancer Awareness month, LBCA is shining a spotlight on the 15% of breast cancer diagnoses each year that are invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC), also known as lobular breast cancer.
In this video hear from ILC patients and families about the shock of learning that ILC was missed on mammograms, and clinicians and researchers about the importance of raising awareness of lobular breast cancer, a distinct breast cancer type that may not form a lump and is often diagnosed later when tumors are larger. As the 2nd most common type of breast cancer with over 46,000 women diagnosed each year in the US, ILC receives less than1% of breast cancer research funding and has no specific treatment.
Help us raise awareness of this troubling type of breast cancer by sharing this video with your family, friends and contacts.
