Meet LBCA’s Newest Scientific Advisory Board Member, Dr. Anita Mamtani from Memorial Sloan Kettering

LBCA Executive Director, Laurie Hutcheson recently interviewed our newest Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) member, Dr. Anita Mamtani, to talk about her work in breast cancer research. 

Dr. Mamtani is a surgical oncologist specializing in breast cancer and surgery with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson University and completed her training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center-Boston and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and currently serves as a Co-Director of the Lobular Breast Cancer Program at Memorial Sloan Kettering, launched in 2024.

Learn more about Dr. Mamtani’s early dedication to breast cancer surgery during her education and training as a junior resident and why her early research into Lobular Breast Cancer has inspired her entire career, now as Co-Director of one of the nation’s first lobular specific program. Laurie and Dr. Mamtani discuss if a registry of ILC patient data will be created to inform future research, why working with patient advocates is important and what Dr. Mamtani hopes to achieve on the LBCA SAB.
