The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) announced in 2024 during its inaugural October 15th Lobular Breast Cancer Awareness Day celebration in Boston, MA, a new Lobular Breast Cancer Research Program that is dedicated to advancing lobular breast cancer research in the laboratory and the clinic.

LBCA Executive Director, Laurie Hutcheson recently caught up with Dr. Rinath Jeselsohn, a breast oncologist with DFCI who heads up the new program and is also a member (and past Chair) of LBCA’s Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), to learn more about this new program, what its focus will be and what Dr. Jeselsohn hopes to achieve through more targeted research into lobular breast cancer.
