Researchers at the University of Colorado Anschutz Cancer Center have launched the Lobular Breast Cancer Initiative (LBCI), a new interdisciplinary program dedicated to advancing research and improving care for people affected by invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC). The initiative brings together laboratory scientists, clinicians, and patient advocates to address critical questions in ILC biology, detection, treatment, recurrence, and metastasis, while working to translate research discoveries into meaningful improvements in patient care. The program also aims to develop evidence-based recommendations that reflect the unique characteristics of ILC .

Leading LBCI is Matthew J. Sikora, PhD, LBCA Scientific Advisory Board member and nationally recognized ILC researcher whose work has helped expand our understanding of ILC and advance the scientific foundation needed to improve care for patients.
