Meet LBCA Scientific Advisor George Sflomos, PhD

The Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance (LBCA) welcomed its newest Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) member George Sflomos, PhD, earlier this year. Dr. Sflomos is a cancer research senior scientist at the School of Life Sciences, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. He spent 10 post-PhD years studying basic and translational research in oncology, with a specific focus on solid tumor cancers, and now focuses on ILC.

Watch Dr. Sflomos in this interview with LBCA Communications Director Colleen Fitzwater, and learn more about his ILC research including the development of lobular breast cancer models. The tools he has developed may help expand the options for preclinical breast cancer experimental and translational research. Dr. Sflomos also talks about why he joined the SAB, why he believes ILC research is so important, and the critical role patient advocates play in ILC research.
