October 15th is 2 months away!
The 2nd annual Global Lobular Breast Cancer Awareness Day is coming up soon and we’re hard at work planning events around the globe, plus we’re excited to report these results so far:
- Over 30 governor’s proclamation requests are in the works across the US and we have already received Hawaii, Louisiana and Idaho – all are first time declarations of the awareness day!
- The first ILC Story reel submitted by Karen has received over 10,000 views across Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin!
October 15th is an important day to raise awareness of ILC during breast cancer awareness month. With your help we can raise awareness across the US, and the world, that ILC needs more research to improve detection, develop targeted treatments and find a cure!

Submit a proclamation request in your state
There are still US states that need governor’s proclamations submitted to declare October 15th as Lobular Breast Cancer Awareness Day this year, including:
Arkansas, Alabama, Kansas, Indiana, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, and Wyoming.

Share your ILC Story on social media
Short video reels on social media are an effective way to spread the word that lobular breast cancer can be missed on mammograms and needs more research to improve detection and treatment.

Participate in an event in your region
Last year advocates helped raise awareness of ILC in their area by participating in existing breast cancer awareness events in October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month. If there are none in your area, you can still take action by delivering ILC brochures and October 15th flyers to a cancer center near you.
