Exciting Opportunity to Explore a Role on the LBCA Board of Directors

Members of the Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance community,

I am Bob McDevitt, Chair of the LBCA Board of Directors, writing on behalf of the Board to share an exciting and rewarding opportunity created by LBCA’s continued growth and success as an independent nonprofit organization.

Over the past several years, LBCA has significantly expanded its impact—strengthening education about invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC), increasing awareness, and helping drive greater attention and funding toward lobular breast cancer specific research. As our organization continues to grow, so does the need to expand our Board of Directors to help guide and sustain this momentum.

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about LBCA’s mission and committed to continuing the growth of ILC–specific research, particularly research focused on improving methods of detection and treatment. Board members help shape LBCA’s strategic direction, serve as ambassadors for the mission, and support fundraising efforts that ensure continued growth and impact. Prior nonprofit board experience is welcomed, though not required; dedication to the mission is what matters most.

If you are interested in exploring a board opportunity—or if you know someone who may be interested—we would welcome the opportunity to connect. More information about the LBCA Board role and responsibilities can be found here on the LBCA website.

Those interested in learning more should contact Executive Director Laurie Hutcheson at LaurieHutcheson@lobularbreastcancer.org. Laurie can provide additional information and help begin the process with the Board.

We look forward to hearing from you.
