Global Lobular Breast Cancer Awareness Day in Australia

October 15

Join us for a special morning tea, talk and tour in recognition of Lobular Breast Cancer Awareness Day in person at the UQ Frazer Institute.

Lobular breast cancer is the second most common form of breast cancer, yet it remains one of the least understood. Unlike other breast cancers, lobular tumours grow and spread uniquely. It is recognised as a special subtype – but despite its distinct behaviour, it is not treated differently.

Researchers at UQ’s Frazer Institute are working to change that. Their world‑leading studies aim to better understand lobular breast cancer and develop new tools to monitor recurrence and predict outcomes specifically for people diagnosed with this disease.
