Many Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance (LBCA) supporters are interested in learning more about how they can encourage others to give to our mission. Peer-to-peer fundraising is one of those ways. It is a method that encourages many people to donate money to help meet the overall goal of an individual or an organization. Sometimes this fundraising method can be set up by someone affiliated with a specific activity in which they are taking part.
One of those people is LBCA Board Member Tracy Cushing, MD, who has signed up with raceroster.com to create a race-based peer-to-peer fundraiser to benefit our important work. In July, Dr. Cushing will take part in The Triple Bypass, a 118-mile challenge ride from Evergreen to Avon, Colorado. She shared the ride will be “amazing, and hard, and is a great event to raise awareness and funds for LBCA.”
LBCA now has a dedicated webpage for peer-to-peer fundraising. When you fundraise using the LBCA peer-to-peer fundraising platform, you share the link to your fundraiser with anyone you wish to be made aware of it, enabling them to contribute. You can share the link via email and/or put it into a letter directing individuals to go to the link to make their gift. When someone makes a gift through the link on your personalized LBCA peer-to-peer fundraising page, it comes directly to LBCA and credits your fundraising campaign.
This method enables you to solicit donations from friends, family members, co-workers, fellow club members, classmates, etc. It lets you share your passion for our cause and invite everyone to help you broadly spread the word.
