Earlier this year, the Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance (LBCA) welcomed Jason A. Mouabbi, MD to its Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). Dr. Mouabbi is an assistant professor of oncology in the Department of Breast Medical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Mouabbi’s research interest is focused on highlighting the differences between invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) and invasive ductal carcinoma. He also works to understand the ILC tumor microenvironment at the cellular, molecular, and genetic levels to identify promising therapeutics that can be studied in clinical trials to help advance the care of people with ILC. He is committed to advancing understanding of lobular breast cancer.
Watch Dr. Mouabbi’s interview with LBCA Communications Director Colleen Fitzwater and learn more about why he joined the SAB, why he believes ILC research is so important, and the critical role patient advocates play in ILC research.
