Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC) Symposiums bring together research scientists, clinicians, and patient advocates to learn and confer about the latest in ILC.

The first International ILC Symposium brought together lobular breast cancer scientists and individuals with ILC in September 2016.  Approximately 130 researchers, clinicians, and ILC patient advocates from around the world attended that inaugural ILC Symposium at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh, PA. This gathering spurred the formation of the Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance (LBCA) as a means of creating an organized patient voice with which to raise awareness of lobular breast cancer and to help advance research on ILC detection and treatments. 

Since 2016 and through the pandemic, LBCA has assisted with the planning and conduct of three additional ILC symposiums including one virtual conference. The most recent was held in September 2023, once again in Pittsburgh. With each symposium, we increase the meaningful dialogue between patients and scientists and take a step closer to better understanding the unique nature of lobular breast cancer and finding lobular-specific treatments.  

On this page we share recordings of the two post-ILC Symposium highlights webinars (and corresponding slides) hosted by LBCA in 2022 and in October 2023.
